Capture in the field Capture in the field

Inspections that don't need a signal.

Offline mode lets an inspector create and edit daily work reports on a tablet with no internet connection. Oversite caches each project's items, crews, and forms on the device, saves every entry locally, and uploads the work automatically the moment the connection returns.

Section 01 / The manual way

Dead zones send inspectors back to paper.

Bridges, tunnels, and rural corridors are exactly where coverage drops and exactly where the work happens.

P_01 LEGACY

Notes on paper.

In a dead zone the inspector falls back to a clipboard, then re-keys every quantity and note into the system back at the office. The same DWR, entered twice.

P_02 LEGACY

Lost entries.

Apps that assume a connection either block the save or drop the entry when the request times out. A day of field work can go with it.

P_03 LEGACY

The did-it-save question.

Without a clear record on the device, the inspector never knows which entries reached the server and which need to be redone.

Section 02 / How it works

Cache the project. Capture the day. Sync on reconnect.

S_01 SETUP

Cache a project.

From offline settings, switch on the projects you'll visit. Oversite downloads each project's items, crews, equipment, contractors, and forms to the device and pre-loads the inspection pages.

S_02 FIELD

Capture with no connection.

Run the full inspection wizard offline. Every step saves to the device and joins a sync queue. A banner shows you're working offline, and nothing blocks the save.

S_03 SYNC

Sync on reconnect.

The moment the device is back online, Oversite uploads the queue in order, retries anything that fails, and confirms when every inspection has landed on the server.

PRODUCT 07-A / OFFLINE PROJECT CACHE

01. Load the project before you lose the signal.

Enabling a project pulls its full reference bundle onto the device: pay items, crews, equipment, contractors, entry fields, and form schemas. The create and edit pages are cached too, so an inspection opens with no connection. Storage usage and a per-project last-synced time stay in view, so you know what is ready before you drive out.

01 Cached per project Items, crews, forms
02 Storage tracking Live usage meter
03 Bundle refresh Auto when online

PRODUCT 07-B / FIELD CAPTURE

02. Capture the whole DWR offline.

Basics, personnel, equipment, items, attachments, and review all run on the device. Enter quantities against the cached bid tab, capture photos, and write up the day's notes. Each step writes to local storage, and a toast confirms it saved. A banner keeps the offline state and the pending count in front of you the whole time.

PRODUCT 07-C / SYNC ON RECONNECT

03. Reconnect, and the day uploads itself.

When the signal returns, Oversite drains the queue in the order the work was entered. Failed items retry on their own, up to three attempts, and anything that still needs attention shows on the Pending Sync page with a one-tap sync. You always know what has reached the server and what has not.

What is offline mode in Oversite?

It is a mode that lets an inspector create and edit daily work reports on a tablet with no internet connection. Oversite stores the project's reference data and every entry on the device, then syncs to the server automatically when the connection returns.

Can I create a daily work report without an internet connection?

Yes. Once a project is cached for offline use, the full inspection wizard runs on the device. You can fill in basics, personnel, equipment, items, and attachments, and each step saves locally.

What happens to my offline inspections when I reconnect?

Oversite uploads them automatically, in the order they were entered. You can also open the Pending Sync page to see every queued change and sync it by hand.

Which data is available offline?

The projects you cache. Each one downloads its pay items, crews, equipment, contractors, entry fields, and form schemas, along with your draft inspections for that project.

What happens if a sync fails?

The item retries on its own up to three times. If it still cannot upload, it shows on the Pending Sync page with an error so you can retry it manually.

Do photos and attachments work offline?

Yes. Photos are captured and stored on the device while you are offline, then uploaded when the connection returns.
